ITU goes live on TIND ILS

Released January 04, 2016

Geneva, Switzerland – January 4, 2016. TIND, an official CERN spin-off, was selected by the International Telecommunication Union to provide their cloud-based library management system based on CERN open source technology. TIND has now successfully replaced the ExLibris Voyager ILS.

"Our new hosted library system offers us all the flexibility we need to make our collections accessible without any investment in and maintenance of infrastructure and software. We can focus on our main business: offering access to information. TIND catalogs are very flexible; searching is fast. The conversion to TIND went very smoothly and the TIND support is absolutely perfect!" says Kristine Clara, Head Library & Archives at ITU.

ITU joins a growing community of UN libraries using TIND’s cloud platform, now adopted by the Office for Human Rights, the International Bureau of Education, the UN Library Consortia in Vienna and the UN Headquarters Library in New York.

The TIND solution also offers strong digital asset management and preservation capabilities, providing the ITU Library with the potential to support digital preservation within the same platform.
