Cedarville University implements TIND Institutional Repository and TIND Digital Archive

Written by David Wamstad | April 17, 2026

Cedarville, Ohio and Oslo, Norway — March 17, 2026 — Cedarville University has gone live on TIND Institutional Repository and TIND Digital Archive, replacing Digital Commons and consolidating the university’s journal publishing, institutional repository, and digital collections onto a single platform. The move replaces six separate tools previously needed to manage the library’s archives and journal publishing operations.

The university selected TIND in order to gain greater flexibility over metadata, workflows, and publishing processes while reducing the administrative burden on their small team. Since going live, Cedarville University has already seen faster peer-review cycles, improved visibility into journal submissions, and a more efficient process for managing institutional content.

“TIND is nimble, innovative, and customer-centric,” said Kathy Carnegis, departing Director of Digital Services at Cedarville University. “We were looking for a system that gave us more autonomy to customize our metadata and workflows without being ‘nickeled and dimed’ for every new feature. TIND’s dashboards provide us with total visibility, showing exactly where a submission sits in the approval process, which has fundamentally streamlined our entire operations. TIND often builds the features we need before we even have to ask for them.”

TIND’s dashboards and configurable workflows have been especially important for the library’s lean staffing model. By replacing manual spreadsheets, email chains, and institution-specific workarounds with a shared, transparent system, TIND has made the operation more sustainable and less dependent on any one individual’s personal processes.
