Tulsa, OK and Oslo, Norway – December 13, 2024. The University of Tulsa (TU) has selected TIND Digital Archive (TIND DA) as its new digital collections platform to preserve and provide access to its extensive archival and research collections. With its modern and intuitive user interface and advanced metadata tools, TIND DA will help TU make its materials more accessible to researchers, students, and the public.
The University of Tulsa McFarlin Library houses a diverse collection of manuscripts, rare books, cultural artifacts, and historical documents that reflect the university’s academic excellence and the region’s rich cultural heritage, including one of largest collections on the celebrated Irish writer James Joyce and the life archive of Nobel laureate Sir V.S. Naipaul. Implementing TIND DA as their first digital archive system, the library is bringing these resources into the digital realm, enhancing discoverability and engagement and ensuring their preservation for future generations.
"Selecting TIND as our primary repository platform marks a significant step forward in preserving and sharing McFarlin Library’s unique collections," said Jill Krefft, Associate Dean of McFarlin Library. "With advanced metadata tools and a user-friendly interface, TIND will provide unprecedented access to our materials, expanding their reach and impact. We’re particularly excited about the platform’s flexible infrastructure and streamlined workflows, which will support the diverse needs of our collections."
TIND DA’s ability to support a full range of formats aligns with TU’s mission to make its collections accessible and relevant in a digital-first environment. For libraries embarking on their first digital repository, TIND’s comprehensive hosting and implementation services provide the guidance and tools needed for a smooth transition. Customizable workflows and powerful batch editing tools will enable McFarlin Library to efficiently process and organize large volumes of content, ensuring a seamless experience for end users.
"We’re happy to welcome the University of Tulsa to the growing community of institutions using TIND Digital Archive," said Alexander Nietzold, CEO of TIND. "Our platform is designed to simplify complex processes, enabling libraries like McFarlin to make their unique materials more accessible and impactful."
