Gainesville, Florida, and Oslo, Norway, November 6, 2026. The University of Florida has selected TIND DA and TIND IR to manage and preserve its digital collections and scholarly output, replacing SobekCM, the open-source system the university built and maintained since 2006. The UF Digital Collections hosts many outstanding digital collections, containing millions of pages, covering tens of thousands of subjects in rare books, manuscripts, global and generic maps, children's literature, newspapers, theses and dissertations, data sets, photographs, oral histories, and more for permanent access and preservation.

"TIND will better connect users with our world-class digital collections, including the Florida Digital Newspaper Library and the Digital Library of the Caribbean, strengthening the infrastructure that supports their preservation and discovery. This partnership positions us to meet evolving user needs and expand access to UF's scholarly and cultural resources for years to come.”

— Libby Evans, Interim Director of Operations and Director of Administrative Services at George A. Smathers Libraries, University of Florida.

The University of Florida is the third major Florida university to select TIND for managing its digital collections and institutional repository, joining Florida International University and Florida State University.
