Lausanne & Geneva, Switzerland – May 12, 2017. CERN spin-off TIND was selected by the Cantonal and University Library of Lausanne to provide their cloud-based Digital Archive (TIND DA). The solution will be integrated with Primo Discovery Service.
“TIND enables us to manage the digital legal deposit of the Canton of Vaud. In other words, all edited digital publications by a person or publisher from in the Canton of Vaud, will be preserved for the long term. This is one of the most complicated challenges for a heritage institution such as ours.
We will also manage and showcase the musical heritage along with the music archives (notably archived pieces by the famous pianist Clara Haskil), as well as private archives that have a connection with the Canton of Vaud, such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Thanks to TIND, items such as photographs, audio files, partitions, manuscripts and also online advertisement can be managed and preserved in sustainable viable way.
The choice of TIND was made because no other system offered such flexibility in implementing our legal numerical project deposit, digital archiving and paper archiving. Heterogeneous needs require innovative and flexible solutions. This is TIND's promise and we look forward to implement it.”
Says Christophe Bezençon, Project Manager for BCU Lausanne.
“We are excited to be working with prestigious BCU Lausanne. It’s a complex project in both scale and requirements, but we have the right solution to provide them with a flexible and scalable system for managing their digital and paper archive.”
Says Alexander Nietzold, CEO at TIND.
