Dublin, Ireland and Geneva, Switzerland – June 7, 2016. CERN spin-off TIND was selected by the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (Eurofound) to provide their cloud-based library management system based on CERN open source technology.
“TIND offers us the possibility to integrate our LMS within an open repository. The all-in-one platform will offer full text and citation search of Eurofound reports linked with publications that are citing our research. I like to describe the knowledge repository as a second level open science discovery tool that will connect Eurofound from within to the outside. TIND will guide us through this journey, matching the right mix of functionality with a contemporary design focused on search user interface, not unlike Google Scholar.”
Says Jan Vandamme, who is heading the library at Eurofound.
The first phase of the implementation comprises the replacement of Eurofound’s existing ILS. The second phase expands TIND services to include digital asset management capabilities, resulting in the launch of the "Eurofound Knowledge Repository". Ultimately, Eurofound will benefit from an all-in-one platform with the ability to manage both traditional library resources and born-digital material.
