The International Fund for Agricultural Development selects TIND ILS

Released October 07, 2022

Rome, Italy and Oslo, Norway – October 7, 2022The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), a specialized agency of the United Nations, has selected TIND ILS, highlighting the technological capabilities of the system and outstanding customer care as main reasons for their choice. IFAD was previously running on Virtua by Innovative Interfaces. TIND provides a modern and easy-to-use ILS system that will enable the IFAD library to make available external information and resources supporting IFAD's business activities in rural development.

By migrating its catalog to TIND ILS, IFAD is following in the footsteps of its sister WFP agency in Rome. Now, the new catalog promises to take life with no boundaries after over 10 years with their previous Virtua ILS.

Laura Sollazzo, Knowledge Management Analyst and Librarian at IFAD, explains why they chose TIND ILS:

“After careful market analysis and consultations with other UN library colleagues, we selected TIND ILS because we were excited by the technological capabilities of their system. It was the only ILS product on the market that met our functional and budget needs and would be a worthy successor to our Virtua ILS for our small library.

Furthermore, customer care was TIND’s priority and we were lucky to take advantage of their excellent service. Migration can be a delicate task but TIND staff made us feel confident that our collection resources were in secure hands."

Having had a positive experience with TIND ILS, the IFAD Library is now excited to explore TIND IR and APIs with their Rome-based UN agency sister libraries to see inter-library collaboration flourish and to benefit increasingly remote staff in their decentralized organization.
