Chicago, IL, and Oslo, Norway – November 15, 2024. The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) has selected TIND ILS as the new platform for its Print Archives and Preservation Registry (PAPR), advancing CRL’s ability to support the global library community in the sustainable management of collective print collections. Originally developed in 2012 together with the California Digital Library (CDL) and funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, PAPR was designed to address the challenges of print serials management by creating a comprehensive collective repository of serials holdings from participating North American libraries. PAPR functions as a ‘data lake,’ collecting and consolidating holdings across participating members to support the preservation and management of print serials.
TIND ILS’ flexible and customizable metadata structure allows CRL to manage a wide range of records and metadata fields while maintaining high standards of data consistency, combined with powerful batch processing tools. The intuitive search and discovery tools within TIND ILS further amplify CRL’s capacity to deliver precise, accessible information on serial holdings, empowering libraries to make strategic, data-informed decisions in their preservation efforts.
