“Our goal is a collection and library catalog that supports both today’s discovery needs and tomorrow’s scholarship. We chose this platform because it gives us strong metadata tools, flexible indexing, and a system designed for interoperability and future enhancements, including linked data.” said Thomas G. Lannon, Library Director. “By strengthening the catalog as a true gateway into the archives, we make it easier for scholars to uncover overlooked sources and ask new questions about the American Revolution, its international dimensions, and its legacy.”
As a specialized research library, the Society is utilizing TIND ILS to support on-site reading room services allowing researchers to request materials for in-house use, while staff track usage and generate usage statistics. The platform makes it possible for high-resolution images to be shared via persistent links that preserve exact zoom levels, allowing librarians to guide researchers to specific details within digitized manuscripts.
