The University of Chicago selects TIND IR and TIND RDM

Released November 28, 2018

Chicago, IL and Oslo, Norway – November 28, 2018. TIND was selected by the University of Chicago to provide their cloud-based TIND Institutional Repository (TIND IR) and TIND Research Data Management (TIND RDM). TIND's systems were chosen in order to better meet growing needs and interests around data sharing and preservation, open access, and reproducible research results. UChicago is migrating its existing research output from DSpace Direct. TIND IR and TIND RDM will be implemented as a single, unified solution for managing, disseminating and preserving all research output and research datasets.

"TIND will offer more features for handling research data in addition to traditional research publications, and will provide greater flexibility for future customization and integration with researchers’ workflows. This move will improve the infrastructure available to our University community to make their data available for reuse, new discoveries, and replication. It will also support researchers as they meet requirements for data sharing from funders and publishers."

Says Nora Mattern, Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of Chicago.

“We are thrilled to be working with the University of Chicago. They have a great history of working with open source library technology. We are particularly excited about having them on board as one of our early adopters of TIND RDM. We look forward to their feedback and contributions as we are further building out capabilities for managing complex research datasets in TIND RDM.“

Says Alexander Nietzold, CEO at TIND.
