Minneapolis, MN and Geneva, Switzerland – May 19, 2017. CERN spin-off TIND was selected by the University of Minnesota to provide the TIND Institutional Repository (TIND IR) for hosting their world-renowned “AgEcon Search” subject repository. TIND has now successfully migrated AgEcon Search from locally maintained DSpace software.
“The TIND Institutional Repository platform is a dream come true for us, and costs significantly less than our previous instance in DSpace. We are excited about the many benefits both for our users and as administrators. Administratively, the rich metadata (in MARC as opposed to the very limited Dublin Core schema) enables correct and easy sorting of journal articles, smooth translation of metadata into citations for search engines like Google Scholar, and incredibly powerful curation tools for establishing permissions, global editing, and hierarchical collection establishment. Our international community of researchers now experiences much more sophisticated searching, filtering, and sorting capabilities, the capability to download to citation managers, and user-friendly features such as saved alerts and easy ingest.”
